Towards the Horizon

I did this piece back in May as a present for my mother on her Birthday, and only just realised I hadn't uploaded it yet to dA. It's a bright ocean landscape picture that is no question at odds with my normal art style of portraits of fantasy warriors, and many of the techniques I used in this aren't stuff I'd tried before, mostly trying to figure out how to do particular elements of the enviroment. I enjoyed this, doing something quite at odds to my normal comfort zone, and my mum certainly likes it too, now hanging above her stairs to a view of the bay in Rye.
